REPAIR HTHW LINE
C – W-P AFB, W912QR-20-C-0008

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

Statement of Work (SOW): Conversion and Upgrade of Heating Systems

Project Overview: The project involves the conversion of two separate High-Temperature Hot Water (HTHW) services to natural gas condensing boilers. This comprehensive upgrade includes the installation of new boilers, pumps, and associated support equipment, as well as significant repairs and replacements to existing infrastructure. Additional tasks include the abandonment of existing high-pressure steam systems, demolition, asbestos abatement, and exterior improvements.

Scope of Work (SOW):

  1. Conversion to Natural Gas Condensing Boilers:

    • HTHW Services Conversion: Convert two separate HTHW services to more efficient and environmentally friendly natural gas condensing boilers.
    • New Boilers Installation: Install new natural gas condensing boilers with improved efficiency and reduced emissions.
  2. Pumps and Support Equipment:

    • Primary and Secondary Pumps: Install new primary and secondary pumps to ensure optimal heating system operation and distribution.
    • Support Equipment: Include all necessary support equipment to ensure the seamless integration and operation of the new boilers and pumps.
  3. Infrastructure Repairs and Replacements:

    • Doors, Walls, and Floors: Repair and replace existing door, wall, and floor systems to accommodate new equipment and improve overall facility integrity.
  4. Abandonment of High-Pressure Steam Systems:

    • Abandon in Place: Safely abandon the existing high-pressure steam systems that are in place.
    • Cap Ends: Cap the ends of the steam systems at buildings to prevent any future use or leakage.
  5. Demolition and Asbestos Abatement:

    • Demolition: Conduct necessary demolition work to remove outdated or obstructive structures and systems.
    • Asbestos Abatement: Safely remove and dispose of asbestos-containing materials in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  6. Fuel Tanks and Exterior Improvements:

    • Fuel Tanks: Address any issues related to existing fuel tanks, including removal, replacement, or necessary improvements.
    • Exterior Improvements: Improve the exterior of the facility, ensuring it is safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing.
  7. Mechanical Controls:

    • Mechanical Control Systems: Install new mechanical control systems to enhance the heating system’s operation, monitoring, and automation.

Benefits:

  • Increased Efficiency: The new natural gas condensing boilers and updated pumps will significantly improve the heating system’s efficiency, leading to cost savings and reduced environmental impact.
  • Enhanced Safety: Upgrading and abandoning outdated high-pressure steam systems and asbestos abatement will improve the facility’s safety.
  • Improved Reliability: New mechanical controls and support equipment will ensure the heating system operates reliably, minimizing downtime and maintenance needs.
  • Modernized Infrastructure: Repairs and replacements to doors, walls, and floors, along with exterior improvements, will modernize the facility and enhance its overall functionality and appearance.

By undertaking this comprehensive SOW, the project aims to provide a modern, efficient, and safe heating system that meets current standards and supports the facility’s operational needs.
