BRIEF DESCRIPTION
This project involved a critical upgrade to the existing central chilled water plant at the VA Hospital. The cooling tower cells, integral to the plant’s operation, had deteriorated significantly. Their degraded state posed a substantial risk to the facility’s operations, as the hospital’s cooling needs were heavily dependent on the reliability of this equipment.
Recognizing the urgent need for improvement, the decision was made to refurbish the existing cooling towers. The Engineer of Record determined that refurbishment would be a more cost-effective solution than replacing them with entirely new equipment. This approach allowed for the necessary enhancements while efficiently managing the project’s budget.
To ensure the successful execution of this project, TITAN Consultants provided a highly experienced Superintendent. The Superintendent’s role was pivotal in overseeing the refurbishment process, ensuring that all work was conducted to the highest quality and safety standards. This oversight was crucial in minimizing disruptions to the hospital’s operations and maintaining the critical cooling capabilities of the chilled-water plant.
