BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Project Overview
Location:
- We are building 829, a barracks complex within the Presidio of Monterey (POM).
Issue:
- Mold was identified on some of the north and west-facing interior walls and insulation within the complex.
Scope of Work:
- Building Structure: The complex is divided into four separate buildings, called “quads,” connected by walkways.
- Exterior Work:
- Stucco Removal: Existing stucco finishes on all sides of the buildings were removed.
- Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS): Installed new EIFS over exterior applied glass mat reinforced gypsum sheathing.
- Reinstallation: Accent bands and motifs were reinstalled to match the original design.
- Interior Work:
- Surface Finish: New interior surfaces were finished with a level 5 finish, textured to match the existing walls.
- Painting: New paint was applied to the interior surfaces.
TITAN’s Role:
- Quality Control Management:
- Responsibilities: Provided a Quality Control Manager for the project.
- Duties: I oversaw the quality of the work performed, ensuring that the exterior and interior renovations met the required standards and specifications. This included inspecting the job, managing quality documentation, and ensuring compliance with project requirements and design standards.
Impact and Benefits:
- Mold Remediation: Addressed mold issues effectively, improving the health and safety conditions within the barracks.
- Enhanced Aesthetics: We restored the exterior and interior finishes to a high standard, matching the original designs and improving the overall appearance of Building 829.
