We are excited to share the latest update on the construction of Fire Station 3 in Albuquerque, NM. Here’s a summary of the key details:

🔹 Contractor: Perikin
Perikin, a leading construction company, is responsible for the development of Fire Station 3, ensuring that the project meets all required safety and quality standards.

🔹 Original End Date: 04/03/2024
The initial projected completion date for the project was April 3, 2024.

🔹 New End Date: 28/06/2024
Due to necessary adjustments and to ensure the highest standards of construction, the new end date has been rescheduled to June 28, 2024.

🔹 Contract: W912-PF-0006
The project is being executed under contract number W912-PF-0006, ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations and specifications.

🔹 Coordinator: Delgado
Delgado is overseeing the project as the designated coordinator, ensuring seamless communication and management of all construction activities.

🔹 Infrastructure Roles: QCM & SSHO
The project involves crucial roles such as Quality Control Manager (QCM) and Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO), ensuring that all construction practices adhere to stringent safety and quality protocols.

Project Overview: The Fire Station 3 project in Albuquerque is a significant infrastructure development aimed at enhancing the city’s emergency response capabilities. With the contractor, Perikin, at the helm, and the project coordinator, Delgado, managing operations, we are committed to delivering a state-of-the-art facility. The extension to the new end date of June 28, 2024, allows us to implement additional quality and safety measures, guaranteeing a robust and reliable fire station for the community.

QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER SCOPE OF WORK

  • Procedures for tracking preparatory, initial, and follow-up control phases; control, verification, and acceptance tests, including documentation
  • Coordination of project logistics, materials, and equipment
  • Managing the day-to-day quality control activities
  • Kept designated personnel and management staff apprised of the status of work
  • Ensured all reports were prepared and submitted by the QC Plan, including the Daily Quality Control Reports
  • Maintained all the project quality control files
  • Reported and logged any work not meeting Spec requirements
  • Recorded all data in the QCS database

  • The SSHO or an equally qualified Alternate SSHO must always be at the work site to implement and administer the Government-Approved Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and Contractor’s Safety Plan.
  • If the SSHO is off-site for no more than 24 hours, the Alternate SSHO must fulfill the same roles and responsibilities as the primary SSHO.
  • Conduct daily safety and health inspections and maintain a written log of what areas were inspected, dates, hazards, corrective actions, and dates corrections were made. Submit this daily report to the QC Manager for submission to the government.
  • Conduct mishap investigations and complete accident reports—report near misses.
  • Use and maintain OSHA’s Form 300 to log work-related injuries occurred on the project. Post and maintain Form 300A on the site safety bulletin board at the project site.
  • Attend pre-construction meeting, mutual understanding meeting, three-phase quality meetings, and progress meetings.
  • Review the APP and Accident Hazard Awareness (AHAs) for compliance with the EM 385-1-1. Approve, implement, and enforce all safety plans and AHAs on the project.
  • Maintain applicable safety reference material on the job site.
  • Establish and maintain a safety deficiency tracking system, making note of all safety deficiencies and ensuring they are corrected timely.
  • Maintain a list of hazardous chemicals on site and their Safety Data Sheets (SDSs).
  • Maintain a weekly list of high hazard activities involving energy, equipment, excavation, entry into a confined space, and elevation, and be prepared to discuss details during Quality Control Progress Meetings.
